The Care Certificate (underpinning knowledge)

The Care Certificate sets out explicitly the learning objectives, competences and standards of care that will be expected in both sectors, ensuring that the HCSW/ASCW is caring, compassionate and provides quality care.

This programme will allow individuals to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the relevant standards and can be used as evidence in completing the Care Certificate.

Each e-learning course in the Care Academy Care Certificate training programme maps to the underpinning knowledge of the relevant Care Certificate standard.

Screening assessments allow individuals who can demonstrate prior knowledge to “fast track” their completion of the underpinning knowledge learning and assessments.

Assessment of performance can be recorded using the observation toolkit and separate assessments.

For workers who do not require the full induction, each standard can be made available individually.
