Building on more than 27 years of experience

Founded in 1997 by Steve Helsby and Mark O’Shea, with the aim of providing high quality, reputable training and qualifications for the HSC sector. We think there’s always something new to learn, a chance to push yourself forward. In short, we really believe that every day is a school day. Learning with each other, and from each other. Now, nearly 30 years on, that’s been pretty much our philosophy in everything – to never stop learning together. Whether it’s seeing the world a different way while holidaying together with our families, or working with people to share our thoughts and help them excel.

Today of course, Edgeworks™ has a digital-first platform at the heart of our approach: EdgeWorks™ Care Academy. The system provides access to a huge number of online courses, qualifications and certifications - as well as providing stress-free tracking and visibility, so businesses remain fully compliant. EdgeWorks™ Care Academy, links HSC sector employers and individuals to Further Education (FE) colleges and Independent Training Providers (ITP), enabling them to obtain the accredited certifications and qualifications they need to work safely and compliantly within industry regulations. From induction training to refresher courses, essential certifications to specialist qualifications, we’re here for every stage of employee development.

Newly launched in 2022  is the EdgeWorks™ Funding Alliance, the only 'Health and Social Care Funding Alliance' dedicated to winning bids that support recruitment, training and staff retention by helping Health and Social Care (HSC) employers to secure access to funding.  EdgeWorks™ Funding Alliance is a pioneering programme, designed to match employers with funding partners who are keen to support recruitment, induction and the attainment of accredited funded qualifications for new and existing staff.
