Updated Care Certificate content coming May 2025

We’ve reviewed the changes. We’ve rebuilt our content. And we’re releasing updated Care Certificate training and resources this May — two months ahead of the July 2025 target set by Skills for Care.

Published on May 16th, 2025

The health and social care sector is entering a critical moment. With the release of the updated Care Certificate Standards by Skills for Care, providers across the country face a clear challenge: adapt quickly or risk falling behind.

At EdgeWorks™, we believe transition is an opportunity, not an obstacle. That’s why we have already reviewed the new standards and are finalising updates across our e-learning programmes, assessment criteria, and mapping toolkits.

We are proud to announce that EdgeWorks™ clients will have early access to the fully updated Care Certificate resources in May 2025 – well ahead of the July compliance deadline set by Skills for Care.

What’s changing in the Care Certificate?

The Care Certificate Standards 2025 bring major improvements:

  • Greater emphasis on digital skills, assistive technology, and inclusive communication.
  • Updated focus on mental capacity, human rights, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Stronger links between mental health, wellbeing, and safeguarding responsibilities.

These changes reflect the evolving needs of both care recipients and the workforce itself. They demand that training providers rethink how learning is delivered, assessed, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

How EdgeWorks™ is responding

At EdgeWorks™, we don’t wait for deadlines. We lead.

By May 2025, EdgeWorks™ will deliver:

  • Fully updated e-learning modules for all 16 revised standards.
  • Refreshed assessment criteria, ensuring the right balance of knowledge and competency.
  • A completely revised Care Certificate Mapping Toolkit, aligning the new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate qualification against induction standards.
  • Enhanced observation and outcome tracking tools to support high-quality, workplace-based assessments.

Every update has been carefully designed to meet the new standards – and to futureproof your workforce training.

Why acting early matters

Updating your Care Certificate programme isn’t just about ticking a compliance box. It’s about:

  • Boosting confidence in your teams.
  • Reducing induction gaps and training duplication.
  • Demonstrating your organisation’s commitment to best practice.
  • Preparing your learners for higher qualifications and career pathways.

Employers who act early show leadership, not just compliance.

EdgeWorks™ clients will have a critical head start. Your teams will begin working to the new Care Certificate expectations months before other providers even start their transitions.

The EdgeWorks™ commitment

The EdgeWorks™ team is committed to supporting the sector during this important shift. Our updated resources, hands-on support, and early action position us – and our clients – at the forefront of quality care delivery.

Our message is simple: with EdgeWorks™, you’re not just meeting standards – you’re setting them.
