New Welsh induction framework e-learning launched

Published on April 3rd, 2018

EdgeWorks™ Care Academy is pleased to announce the launch of its All Wales induction framework for health and social care (adults) e-learning.

It can be used to structure the induction process or to inform your current induction programme. The statutory guidance for Service Regulations 36 states;

Service providers ensure they have an induction programme that equips all new staff to be confident in their roles and practice and enables them to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of individuals using the service.

All employers have a responsibility to make sure their new workers receive a suitable induction using this induction framework. This framework will help you and the responsible individuals show that workers are completing a robust, structured induction to make sure that regulatory requirement and contracting monitoring are met.

Full details are available in our e-learning portfolio and topics include:

  • Section 1 Principles and values of health and social care (adults).
  • Section 3 Health and well-being (adults).
  • Section 5 Professional practice as a health and social care worker.
  • Section 6 Safeguarding individuals.
  • Section 7 Health and safety in health and social care.

Section 5 does not cover all the underpinning knowledge. Additional training may be required to meet requirements and is dependent on an individual’s role/work environment.

The underpinning knowledge includes optional screening assessment allows individuals who can demonstrate prior knowledge to “fast
track” their completion of the learning and assessments.
