SISCo: Supporting Induction in Social Care

POSTED ON SEPTEMBER 8TH, 2006

We came across this interesting site today – www.sisco.org.uk. They are linked to the Social Care Institute of Excellence and their remit is;

“promotes the integration of ‘basic skills’ assessment with the implementation of the social care Common Induction Standards. The project is jointly run by the Social Care Institute for Excellence and Skills for Care, with support from the South East England Development Agency.”

From our experience we understand that Basic Skills, and in particular IT skills are in certain instances below expectations, we also know that well designed e-Learning and support can quickly break down barriers. We will be very interested to see how this project progresses.
