Lone working guide for employers

Published on February 8th, 2008

The Workplace Law Network has published new guidance for employers on lone working – an issue right at the heart of the care sector.

Covering the legislation, health and safety and risk assessments, the guide – Lone Working 2008 – is written by health and safety lawyer, Dale Collins, from Bond Pearce, Louise Smail, a risk consultant and has contributions from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.

Thousands of care workers work remotely, visiting people in their homes, travelling long distances on their own and sometimes working late into the evening. Care workers face unpredictable situations and challenges every day. This guide brings together the latest information and goes some way towards helping employers keep their carers safe.

At EdgeWorks™ Care Academy, we go one step further and have developed an online learning solution for care workers themselves, offering high-quality online training in personal security and risk assessment.
