Whether you’re a carer, professional or working in a support role, this course will help you understand how to act lawfully, ethically and in the best interests of the individual.
This eLearning course introduces the key concepts, responsibilities and legal frameworks involved in supporting adults who may lack the capacity to make some decisions for themselves. You’ll learn what capacity means, how to recognise when someone might have a capacity deficit, and how capacity should be assessed.
The course also covers the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act, including the principles that underpin it and the different roles and legal options available to support decision-making.
